Could this be the 9 Series?

There have been several concept designed that never made it.
Especially the BMW concepts. Usually too futuristic or impractical and how could we forget illegal.

One good example is from the movie iRobot – but… hey the i8 is pretty close! and only after a few years which honestly i believe isn’t too bad!

Meet the BMW PININFARINA GRAN LUSSO

A car designed literally just to make your jaw drop! Luxury at it’s finest. As you read on I mentioned some great points about this beauty and some renders of the possible upcoming (but yet to be announced) BMW 9 series.

BMW Press Conference - Photoshopped

Checkout this video.

You’ll notice it shares few similarities with today’s modern BMW – The front lights for one are quite elegant and are of suitable for production height. The apparent lower DRL lights are one thing that would just never make it into a 9 series sadly cause of the international laws. Australia would most probably have a heart attack, while Europe would restrict it to turn/steering lamps. The rear lights quite similar to all the other concepts.

An interior to match this would most probably be standard as BMW is famous for it’s amazing and epic interiors – even with it’s overpriced options. Oh and that V12 badge!? BMW 9 series – I really doubt it! lol.

Take a look at some of these 9 series mock-ups. One day you might see one on the road!

How about mods?

Now what’s more important than seeing how this thing would look sacked on it’s ass on big ass wheels, a little camber and some hefty performance mods.

I guess a front and rear lip wouldn’t hurt – The lower lights might turn into some Knight Rider style LED moving left to right, which now to think of it would be kind of cool while parked.

As a POLICE car this would honestly be sick, but only the citizens of DUBAI would be able to experience such beauty – Not that Germany would fall behind, probably with a weaker model of the car but nonetheless with the same appearance.

Creative exchange

With the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupé, the BMW Design team took up exclusive design aspects such as luxury and elegance and fed them into a creative exchange with long-established specialist car designer and manufacturer Pininfarina. In this elaborately created one-off, the renowned companies BMW Group and Pininfarina joined forces to bring an idea to fruition.

“We are very proud of this concept car because it expresses at best the aesthetic values that always inspired Pininfarina: the purity of the lines, the harmony of form, and balance. It underlines our expertise as a global designer and manufacturer of high-quality exclusive cars realized thanks to unique craft skills gained in over 80 years of activity.
